Book Review: Devil and the Deep by Julie Ann Walker

Devil and the DeepA romantic comedy disguised as a thriller, “Devil and the Deep” has so many laugh out loud funny moments interspersed with true danger that I was giggling at the same time that I was sitting at the edge of my seat.

The story of Maddy Powers, oil heiress and Bran Pallidino, former Navy Seal, “Devil and the Deep” continues the original plot of the search of a sunken treasure. On top of that, there are two more. First, there is the romantic comedy part wherein the banter between Maddy and Bran are so precious; you have to read the book just for that. And then there is the thriller part, where the badass Navy Seal goes into action.

Such is the mastery of Julie Ann Walker for her craft, that readers just cannot get enough of the story. Though there is resolution in the story of Maddy and Bran, readers continue to ask for more and can’t wait for the next installment of The Deep Six series.

Devil and the Deep (The Deep Six)” is Rated M for Mature due to violence and some sexual content.
