A comedy-drama, “Stealing Mr. Right” starts in the middle of the story. In the first chapter, Tamara Morgan introduces jewel thief Penelope Blue in the act of stealing a $2million necklace only to be circumvented by her husband, FBI agent Grant Emerson.
If you’re asking, “Who? What? Why?” you just echoed my questions, which by the way was the reason why I could not put down the book. I needed to know how this unlikely pairing could have a happily ever after.
With a whodunit hooking the readers in, Morgan cleverly used flashbacks to weave the love story of Penelope and Grant. Lots of laugh out loud funny instances with a sprinkling of heartaches which served as counterpoints to many sweet moments, the main characters came alive.
Morgan’s in-depth character development are also seen in the secondary characters who are also three-dimensional which made me suspect that they will have their own books in the series.
A great read! This book should be in your reading list this summer!
Stealing Mr. Right is Rated T for Teens due to some adult situations.
I’m a wanted jewel thief.
He’s FBI.
Being married to a federal agent certainly has its perks.
1. I just love the way that man looks in a suit.
2. I always know what the enemy is up to.
Isn’t that what they say? Keep your friends close…and your husband closer. Spending my days lifting jewels and my nights tracking the Bureau should have been a genius plan. But the closer I get to Grant Emerson, the more dangerous this feels. With two million dollars worth of diamonds on the line, I can’t afford to fall for my own husband.
It turns out that the only thing worse than having a mortal enemy is being married to one. Because in our game of theft and seduction, only one of us will come out on top.
Good thing a cat burglar always lands on her feet.
