Mia DeAngelis became the guardian of her nephew Ben both by choice and by circumstances. The younger of two children, Mia took over the care of her older sister’s son when she died. In need of a change, Mia moved to her grandmother and mother’s hometown of Compass Cove to raise Ben who was now 10 years old.
Adam Miller, a retired NFL quarterback, has come back to Compass Cove to start over after an injury puts an end to his high-octane life. Though his hometown has given him time and space to heal, Adam has a hard time shedding his bad boy image.
When Mia and Adam met, there definitely was chemistry. In between their jobs, nosy friends and family who sometimes are well meaning and their own demons to conquer, Mia and Adam find themselves very far from the happily ever after they are trying to pursue.
