Book Review: Wolf Rising by Paige Tyler

Like fine wine, the SWAT series is getting better with age. SWAT’s Book 8, “Wolf Rising” pumps so much adrenaline from the first page to the last that it can give “The Fast & the Furious” a run for its money. And quite frankly, if Netflix or Hulu picks up this series, it will attract both men and women.

For romance lovers, “Wolf Rising” is the love story of SWAT Officer Jayden Brooks and high school teacher Selena Rosa. Hence, you can expect steamy love scenes.

But, as always, Paige Tyler does not write straight romance. With its paranormal bent, a cop procedural was also added, plus the ongoing mystery of wolf hunters which had besieged our heroes from Book 1. In short, Tyler has gone from strength to strength with each new installment of the SWAT series.

Without going into spoilers, “Wolf Rising” also unravels some wolf shifter mystery. It’s a fascinating subplot! It is also an additional element to Jayden and Selena’s story.

For fans of the series, this is a must-read. If by chance, this is your introduction to the SWAT series, don’t worry, “Wolf Rising” is a standalone novel. There will be mentions of what happened in the past, so chances are you will get curious and pick up the first 7 books!
