DALLAS, Nov 3, 2012/ — Bringing psychology into the forefront of fashion, New York-based designer Shauntele Richardson proposed inkblot-inspired prints on her very feminine Spring/Summer 2013 collection.
“I found the symmetrical and dark forms of the Rorschach inkblots to be romantic way of symbolizing this psychology of fashion, “stated Shauntele Richardson when asked about her inspiration. “The challenge of each collection is to portray strength and femininity in these garments I put forth.”
References for spring were seen through airy printed dresses and casual tee shirts in both mint and natural color palates. The collection featured various necklines and hem lengths – black and white inkblot dresses skimmed the models necks and pleated maxi dresses gracefully swept the floor.
Shauntele’s designs are made from fabrics that hug and flow, embracing the wearer in graceful, contemporary style. Combining the unique with the classic, Shauntele’s approach demonstrates a respect for the modern woman’s duality. Multidimensional femininity and function meet to create versatile classics and novel elegance.
The inspiration for this collection was two-fold. First, themes of nature were used to serve as a means of celebrating the natural beauty that many women possess. Leaf prints and abstract images reminiscent of coral streaked sunsets made for great visual starting points around this idea.
