Cute and Funny
5 Stars
Giving a bird’s eyeview of working inside the Washington beltway, “Compromising Positions” brings the readers to the inner sanctum of Washington D.C and the streets of New York. The book follows Mike Garrity and Mercedes Fortunato, two unexpected lovers who had their own baggage from the past to get over with before they get their HEA.
A cute and funny romance with suspense thrown in, “Compromising Positions” is well written and I cannot really fault the editing. But somehow, though technically it was perfect (no glaring typos, misspellings, etc) and the words flow with a beautiful rhythm, I found the storyline dragging at times.
Mike and Mercedes were engaging enough. In fact, the supporting characters were also fleshed out nicely. But, somehow, only thing I can feel is “nice”. It could not elicit any other feelings which I was expecting given the nature of the subplot of suspense.
So, I took away one star to show my disappointment.
