A Look Back: Brangelina in Versace

DALLAS, Jun 13, 2012/ — In an era of social networking, pop culture came up with pairing names to describe couples and the most famous of them all is BRANGELINA, for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Though it’s embarrassing to accept it online, I am a fan of both. I fell in love with Brad Pitt in “Legends of the Fall” and just loved Angelina Jolie in “Girl, Interrupted” which by the way won her an Academy Award.

Yesterday, as I was going through my archives, I came across several photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They have been published before. In fact, the photo of Angelina in the stunning black custom-made strapless Atelier Versace velvet gown, intricately gathered into folds at the top, with a full folded skirt with a thigh high slit detail on the right was the most talked about and perhaps the most viewed photo during the 84th annual Academy Awards held on February 26, 2012.

Angelina actually favored Versace during the 2012 awards season. During the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held on January 15, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel she wore a stunning white one shoulder Atelier Versace gown composed of silk cadis with a folded red detail at the left shoulder combined with white Versace shoes.

Brad Pitt also favored Versace early this year, but wore the brand at different times with Angelina. On Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the occasion of the 23rd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala, Brad Pitt chose to wear Versace.

Brad, who was honored at the Gala with the Desert Palm Achievement Award in Acting, chose a look from Versace Spring/Summer 2012 – he wore a black one button notch lapel suit paired with a white button down Versace shirt and a slim black Versace tie.

On the evening of January 9, 2012 in occasion of the 2011 New York Film Critics Circle Award, Brad Pitt chose to wear Versace. The ‘Moneyball’ actor chose a sleek one button notch lapel charcoal colored suit from Versace Spring/Summer 2012 and paired it with a white button down Versace shirt and a slim black Versace tie.
