The museum’s annual Costume Institute Gala Benefit celebrated the opening of the year’s exhibition, and is the main source of funding for the museum. This year’s exhibit, PUNK: Chaos to Couture (May 9 – August 14, 2013), examines punk’s impact on high fashion from the movement’s birth in the 1970’s through its continuing influence today.
