Alice Headbands Reimagined by Genevieve Rose Atelier

Genevieve Rose AtelierHeadbands, the classic hair ornament and headgear is believed to have been around from the early Greek period dating from 475 BC to 330 BC. They come in assorted shapes, but the horseshoe-shaped headbands are arguably the most popular in the fashion circle.

Sometimes called the “Alice” bands or headbands in honor of Alice in Wonderland who is often depicted wearing one in “Through the Looking-Glass,” this horseshoe-shaped headband had become a fashionista staple since it hit mainstream thanks to Lewis Carroll.

Genevieve Rose Atelier pays homage to this beloved hair ornament as it was reimagined as a utilitarian headgear yet also a fascinator at the same time.

Chic, stylish and regal at times, these Alice headbands are handcrafted by expert milliner Genevieve Foddy in her New York City studio.
