DALLAS, May 2, 2012/ — Almost two years ago, on July 11, 2010, I accidentally walked into a protest being held by members of the Westboro Baptist Church better known as “America’s Most Hated Family” when they held a protest in front of the Dallas Cathedral.
And quite frankly, during that time, I did not even know that they exist! More curios than anything else, I stayed just to see what was going on. There was a TV crew shooting the event (they were on the six o’clock news later that day) and there were also uniformed policemen on the scene.
Across the street, a group of citizens were protesting against what America’s Most Hated Family was doing. Ah, democracy at work! And that is why I love America!
I don’t agree with what members of the Westboro Baptist Church are spouting. But, they are entitled to their opinion and it is their right to hold a protest march. Those who were on the other side of the road, protesting against America’s Most Hated family also have the same right.
