One of my best listens ever, “When Ashes Fall” is in a class of its own!
This is one of those books that I am scared to say anything because I might write a spoiler. It’s a must-read / must-listen. It’s hard to put down once you started.
If I’m not making sense, just think of the Big Bang Theory episode when the whole gang was at the comics bookstore and they were all looking forward for the next issue on their favorite Marvel superhero.
Stuart told Sheldon that “it will blow your socks off.” And Sheldon was so upset because to him, it was already a spoiler. With that in mind, I firmly believe that for this book, it is better to go in blind. You will enjoy it more.
That said, I will just quote USA Today – “When Ashes Fall is a tautly written, complex, and emotionally-charged love story that takes the reader on an unforgettable, unexpected, and deeply moving journey.”
For the narrators, I can say more. Ava Erickson was superb! Her narration went through a spectrum of emotions. As a listener, you feel as if you are part of the journey.
Teddy Hamilton is as always just a joy to listen to. His voice and inflections give the character so much depth. Dylan Cole was not just a character in the book. Hamilton made him a real person. Let me also add that two of my must-listen books for this year are both narrated by Teddy Hamilton.
This is my first listen for Aiden Snow, and he did not disappoint. His rendition of Smith Reid is right on target.
To author Marni Mann… oh, accept this virtual hug from me. This is one of the best books I have ever read. After listening, I ordered a hard copy from your website. I don’t usually buy paperbacks. Call me a book snob but I prefer hard backs. I like “When Ashes Fall” so much that I relaxed my rule on paperbacks.
“When Ashes Fall” is Rated T for Teens. Parental guidance is advised due to theme.

Summary:
It’s been said that you can’t love two men at the same time.
You can’t split your heart, soul, and body in half.
But I’m here to tell you, you can.
Dylan Cole is like ice, sharp and unpredictable, the thunder inside a tumultuous storm.
Smith Reid is warmth, soft and gentle, perfect like a sunny day.
Both are mine.
But I can have only one.
There are two sides to this tale.
I’m here to tell you mine.
If you think this story is about a cheater, you couldn’t be more wrong.
