Best of runway from the Monique Lhuillier Spring/Summer 2015 collection unveiled in New York on Friday, September 5, 2014 during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
On the press notes, Monique Lhuillier wrote:
The first few moments of sunrise, the instant before the sun rises and paints the sky with luminous shades of pastels is my inspiration for my Spring 2015 collection.
Colors emanate from muted pastel shades in a sunrise sky and the translucent metallic reflections it creates. Soft hues of pink, coral, mint green, sky blue, lavender and pale yellow stand alone as well as combined take on an iridescent dreamlike quality.
From flora to sunrise, painterly landscapes, violet petal prints and delicate floral embroidery leave on ethereal yet playful impression. To create modern elements, noir coated mesh, laminated lace, iridescent metallic piping and liquid satin, keep the collection youthful and sleek. Styles in reflective lamé and shimmering embroidery offer shine and glamour.
Gowns evoke relaxed ease and fresh beauty. The sleekness of scuba column gowns are juxtaposed with abstract bow, patchwork lace and embroidered tulle ball gowns creating an unexpected mix.
The shoe collection features sleek Lucite heels in ombre hues of the sunrise.
