Book Review: Cowboy in My Pocket by Kate Douglas

cowboy in my pocketLiving here in Texas, listening to country music is an everyday occurrence. After listening to many country songs, I figured that there is a recurring theme beginning with a broken heart, somebody is either going in prison or coming out of prison, there is a dog there somewhere and a cowboy who broke a girl’s heart and vice versa.

Being a book lover, and after reading hundreds of romances, I have also figured that there is a recurring theme. But before I can make a list, here comes Kate Douglas with “Cowboy in My Pocket”.

The back cover reads:

If you like your cowboys sexy, your heroines forgetful and your marriages convenient, this gentle parody of cowboy romances will leave you with a smile on your face and a sigh on your lips. Discover romantic comedy at its best in this captivating tale of a woman who finds her one true love and the cowboy hero afraid to give his heart.

Guess what, just reading the blurb made me laugh. And I did not stop laughing until I finished the book.

Saying that “Cowboy in My Pocket” is laugh out loud funny is not enough. As author Kate Douglas said herself, it is a parody. And the author’s wicked sense of humor says it all!

The book is Rated M for Mature due to sexual content.
