Book Review: Crossing the Line by Frédérique Molay

Rating:

crossing the lineCrossing the Line ”, the second book of the Paris Homicide Series, finds Chief of Police Nico Sirsky dealing with two unrelated cases – a jewelry heist sting and an odd case – dental students discovered a message in a tooth of severed head being used in their class.

And though the latter case was more of a favor to the higher ups, Nico Sirsky found it more intriguing, more complicated and a hard mystery to solve. Everything was not as it seems though everything seems to be exactly where it should be.

Nico Sirsky finds help in an unusual place, from his newfound love, Dr. Caroline Dalry, her insights helping solve the case.

“Paris Homicide Series” is turning to be very addictive. It is so easy to fall in love with Nico Sirsky. As a character, author Frédérique Molay wrote him to be three-dimensional. He is so alive in the book that the reader can almost see him smile or frown or hear him sigh.

Though Sirsky is not an anti-hero, he is also far from perfect. “Crossing the Line ” shows him as a man in love with a new woman but his ex-wife also tugs at his heartstrings.

For this second book, author Frédérique Molay found the perfect balance between giving the audience the adrenaline rush of a mystery/thriller while also allowing the readers to develop a personal relationship with the hero.

Another great read from Frédérique Molay. “Crossing the Line ” is Rated M for Mature due to perceived violence and some mild sexual content.
