Laugh out loud funny, “Dangerous Exes
I used “control freaks” for lack of a better word. I wanted to use OCD tendencies, but then again, it might give the wrong impression. Think of Jack Nicholson in “As Good As It Gets.” He is not obnoxious. Rather, he is your funny next-door neighbor who tends to be overbearing.
Jessie Beckett and Isla Turner are two sides of a coin. Beckett wants everything perfect especially his public persona. He wants everything in order to the point of alphabetizing his groceries. Turner is a planner. Things must go according to her plans! And if they don’t, then from her point of view, all hell has broken loose.
They are perfectly imperfect… and guess what? They are perfect for each other!
And that is the genius of this story. Rachel Van Dyken has created two lead characters who seem to have all their ducks in a row, but they are actually as damaged as everyone else around them. That, this is a romantic comedy made “Dangerous Exes
A feel-good book, this one should be one of those books you read before bedtime. You want to relax and you want to have sweet dreams. This one will do it for you.
