About 50% police procedural and 50% romance, “Devil’s Deception” could easily be an episode in one of the cop shows on television. Wow! And double wow! The suspense gets to you that for a few precious minutes, you forget that Doreen Owens Malek is a romance author!
“Devil’s Deception” follows Brett Devlin, an undercover cop and Angela Patria, a law student who is also a mob heiress (I’m using the word “mob” loosely here). Two people from the opposite ends of the spectrum whose social classes are as different as night and day. He is from a farming town, she is a New York City socialite. Yet, they are also prime candidates for “opposites attract” scenario.
But, they did not run true to form. After all, there is such as thing as the law.
Great read, exciting story and characters that are so lovable!
