The fourth book in The First Wives series by Catherine Bybee, “Faking Forever” is arguably the most fun to read. First, the hero and heroine are “so of today!” Victor Brooks is a Recycle King. He was buying and selling scraps long before it was fashionable. And with recyclable goods on top of the headlines currently, Victor is so relevant to the readers!
The heroine, Shannon Wentworth is a glitterati! She might be one of those who was hiding in plain sight, but once a scandal ensues, she became a tabloid fodder one again. Ironically, she is also a photographer though not a paparazzi.
Between Victor being left at the altar and Shannon looking for a baby daddy, it was easy to assume that those two were heading for a disaster. But, hold your horses! They did not. Showing off her prowess as a storyteller, author Catherine Bybee gave readers to a sweet, heartwarming and sometimes laugh out loud funny love story.
You will fall in love with Victor and Shannon. Plus, you will meet the characters in the first three books as part of the story and not just cameo appearances. You don’t need to read the first three books though. “Faking Forever” is a standalone novel. Yet, I won’t be surprised if after reading this, you will want to know more about Shannon’s friends.
“Faking Forever” is Rated T for Teens due to some adult situations. Parental guidance is strongly advised.

Summary
Shannon Wentworth’s biological clock is ticking, and she isn’t going to let her single status keep her from having a baby. When her wedding-photography business takes her to Mexico, she has every intention of finding a willing baby daddy to help her out. Until the bride goes AWOL, leaving Shannon to coddle the arrogant fiancé who has accused her of sabotaging his wedding.
Victor Brooks never could have imagined that he’d be on a honeymoon for one. Only here he is, taking a hard look at his life after the younger women he thought he loved walked out. The woman who volunteers to help him reflect is the last person he expects to be attracted to. Between the tequila, the sun, and one earth-shattering kiss, Victor finds Shannon a distraction too sexy to ignore.
They strike a deal: wait three months, cool off, and see if their tropical beach attraction is worth taking up when they go back home. Unfortunately, that’s just enough time for the past to come calling. All their best-laid plans are at risk. So is the last thing Shannon expected to matter the most: her heart.
