Book Review: Falling for Her Boss by Karen Rose Smith

Rating:

Baby Steps in Love
5 Stars

How do you make someone fall in love with you when that person does not even know how to love? Or better yet, that same person has the power to take away from you something you hold dear.

Sparks immediately flew when Francie Piccard, manager of Roller Fun roller skating rink met her boss, Noah Gordon, owner of Roller Fun. Though obviously both are attracted to each other, the situation is not simply about falling in love.

Noah has been upfront that he does not do long term relationships, but why is he staying around to be with Francie? And just to throw a monkey wrench in the works, Brent McIntosh, Francie’s former figure skating partner wants her back on the ice to try for Olympic gold. So why is Francie back in Gettysburg and not in New York training?

An enjoyable read of a very tight storyline, the author presented us a sweet and poignant love story that keeps you cheering for the hero and the heroine. While both are not perfect and definitely carries their respective emotional baggages, you also cannot help but fall in love with Francie and Noah for their “joie de vivre.” And best of all, they do not have the annoying habit of not knowing what to do. Both are straight shooters, hence there were no dull moments in the book. It hard to put down once you started.
