Book Review: Gone Too Deep by Katie Ruggle

Gone Too DeepIn “Gone Too Deep,” the fourth book in her “Search & Rescue” series, author Katie Ruggle does it again as she brings two very memorable characters front and center. Their love story is their own while the danger they face is still connected to the main plot line that keeps this series together.

Best described as the big, strong and silent man, George Holloway is the best survival expert that the Search and Rescue team has. So, when city girl Ellie Price walked in the café in Simpson, Colorado and asked who was the best person to guide her through the wilderness to get to help her look for her father, everyone pointed to George.

Well, it was a match made somewhere else other than heaven. George and Ellie are possibly the most incompatible couple there could be – a mountain man and a city girl. He is used to trees and quiet. She is at home in the concrete jungle. Still, their pairing work!

Katie Ruggle once again wove her magic as a wordsmith and made George and Ellie the cutest couple ever. Well, cute is not exactly right. Ellie is cute, but George is huge and a mountain of a man; handsome yes, but not cute. Nevertheless, George and Ellie are my favorite couple so far in this series. Their chemistry is just perfect.

Gone Too Deep (Search and Rescue)” is Rated M for Mature due to violence and sexual content.

Description

In the remote Rocky Mountains, lives depend on the Search & Rescue brotherhood. But in a place this far off the map, trust is hard to come by and secrets can be murder.

George Holloway has spent his life alone, exploring the treacherous beauty of the Colorado Rockies. He’s the best survival expert Search and Rescue has, which makes him the obvious choice to lead Ellie Price through deadly terrain to find her missing father. There’s just one problem-Ellie’s everything George isn’t. She’s a city girl, charming, gregarious, delicate, small. And when she looks up at him with those big, dark eyes, he swears he would tear the world apart to keep her safe.

With a killer on the loose, he may have no choice.

Ellie’s determined to find her father no matter the cost. But as she and her gorgeous mountain of a guide fight their way through an unforgiving wilderness, they find themselves in the crosshairs of a dangerous man in search of revenge. And they are now his prey.
