Book Review: I Do, I Do . . . Again by Barbara Bretton

i do ido againNowadays, many have second marriages, but how many marry the same person twice? “I do I do Again” follows Robert and Sunny, high school sweethearts who eloped on prom night then got divorced later. Fast forward 15 years, they saw each other again and fell hopelessly in love with each other again.

But, they are older now, with two kids to think of if they get married again and of course, their families who want to “do it right” this time with a big church wedding.

Taking the readers on both sides of the coin, (three if we count the original elopement), “I do I do Again” gives a close look on planning a traditional wedding with families and friends involved. And, if you went through one yourself, you can actually feel the frustration and exhaustion, even the yelling.

Then of course, this is a modern family, wherein children from a former marriage are involved. New bonds had to be created while not forgetting old ones.

Sweet and funny at times, “I do I do Again” blends the modern family with the traditional as the bond of love ties them all together.
