Book Review: Love’s Paradox by Laura Kreitzer

Heart wrenching with some Laugh Out Loud Funny Moments

loves paradoxI love the book! I actually finished reading Love’s Paradox in one day. But, I’m having a hard time writing a review. It’s because author Laura Kreitzer’s narrative just shot through my heart. It’s a heart wrenching story with enough laughs out funny moments that give you time to catch your breath; because if you don’t, you will be crying from beginning to end.

Escaping from an abusive relationship, Rae Zachary tried to exorcise her demons by singing about it. But, it all backfired because it just fueled the fire on her abusive and stalkerish ex-boyfriend. One good thing came from it though. Rae met Parker Livingston who just made Rae’s heart goes pitter-patter.

But, can she trust him? And the harder question to answer is, can Rae trust herself to fall in love again?

Written as a first person account through the eyes of Rae Zachary, Love’s Paradox is a woman’s journey to freedom. Author Laura Kreitzer’s excellent storytelling skills allowed the readers to experience Rae’s nightmare with her as she tells the story of how she was abused. In a dark romance like this, a less skillful writer can easily lose the reader. But not Laura Kreitzer; she found that perfect balance between a heavy hand and a light touch. Honest with the brutality, Ms. Kreitzer was also direct with the happy and fun moments.

And that is the reason why this book is a great read. Make sure that you put this on your reading list this summer.

This book is Rated M for Mature due to violence and sexual content.
