Book Review: Picture Perfect Wedding by Lynnette Austin

Love is lovelier the second time around! High school sweethearts Beck Elliot and Tansy Calhoun did not have “Picture Perfect Wedding” they were dreaming of. But they did not have to wait years either to find out if there was still something salvageable from their young love.

For “Picture Perfect Wedding,” author Lynnette Austin brings readers back to Misty Bottoms, Georgia, a small rural town which is undergoing a revival as residents who left for the big city were coming back. Tansy Calhoun is one of them but she is not coming home alone. With her is her daughter Gracie Bella. And she is not coming home in triumph. She comes home after a bitter divorce.

Beck Elliot did not know the circumstance of Tansy’s divorce. All he knew is that she’s free again. But, Beck had moved on. Or has he? The spark is still there. But, can he take that journey again with Tansy? Once bitten twice shy, and that’s exactly how Beck feels.

A drama-comedy, “Picture Perfect Wedding” is a feel-good read that makes you believe that a do-over exists. You will fall in love with Beck, Tansy and Gracie Bella as they slowly and unexpectedly becomes a family.

And best of all, you will fall in love with Misty Bottoms, which the place is fictional, it is as much a character in the book like the protagonists.

“Picture Perfect Wedding (Magnolia Brides)” is Rated T for Teens. Though there are no sex scenes in this book, it is implied that it happened.
