Book Review: Taming the Texas Cowboy by Charlene Sands

Short, sweet and a joy to read, “Taming the Texas Cowboy (Forever Texan Book 1)” reminds one of the joys of living in a small town. Being a city girl myself but born and raised in a small town, the story of Maddie Brooks and Trey Walker reminded me of how small-town folks help out one another.

Of course, this is a romance and the chemistry between the two protagonists is the main plot of the book. But, the subplot is small town life because it is only in small towns wherein you can find a veterinarian having a temporary office in a barn and no eyebrows are raised.

Maddie and Trey are fun characters and it will be good to catch up with them in the next books in the “Forever Texan” series, which I believe is well on its way to be a fan favorite.

Taming the Texas Cowboy (Forever Texan Book 1)” is Rated T for teens due to some sexual content which not graphic, but there nonetheless.

Description

After a disaster destroyed nearly everything Maddie Brooks owned, Trey Walker offered the petite redhead shelter at 2 Hope Ranch. A veterinarian, Maddie was smart, sexy, and good with animals… Impossible to resist, yet Trey is convinced he is cursed when it comes to women.

The temporary arrangement Maddie made with Trey was supposed to be strictly business. Easy since Maddie had tried and failed to catch the handsome cowboy’s eye for a year. She thought she was so over him…until he kissed her.
