Book Review: The Pearl of Paradise by Jean Brashear

Rating:

An Exciting Read

Based on a real Chinese legend, “The Pearl of Paradise” has the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster movie if ever it was turned into one.

Told as a romantic story through the point of views of two lovers – Damon Alexander and Lily Shen, the legend take center stage and thus pulling the reader. “The Pearl of Paradise” is as much a love story as a story of being a family. It does not matter whether they are related by blood or not; what matters is that they are all willing to make sacrifices for each other.

As the legend of the Dragon and the Pearl come alive in the story, Damon and Lily’s love also shines through. Separated by five years, both of them hurting, Damon and Lily have to work together to save their son while they also work out their differences and ultimately find each other again.

Suspenful and poignant, I’m giving “The Pearl of Paradise” 5 stars
