Book Review: The Way Back to You by Sharon Sala

the way back to you

A very sweet read, “The Way Back to You” is short but has several subplots which were all tied up and resolved by the end of 352 pages.

The main plot follows retired firefighter Sully Raines’ search for his birth mother. The first paragraph of Chapter 1 summed it all with “The entire forty-five years of Sullivan Raines existence crushed and burned” … when he found his adoption papers in his parents’ safety deposit box.

Based on the data in the adoption papers, Sully hired an ancestry investigator with each new discovering bringing him from Missouri to Texas to Tennessee and finally Blessings, Georgia.

In Blessings, Sully reconnected with Melissa Dean, a girl he dated in high school; their chance meeting segued into a second-chance romance subplot.

And there are just the main two. There are three others which though very condensed added to the storyline.

Again, as already mentioned, “The Way Back to You” is very short. It is a good book to curl into in front of a fire or on a lazy afternoon with a blanket on your feet.

The Way Back to You” is Rated T for Teens. There are no sex scenes though it was implied. Parental guidance strongly advised due driving while intoxicated.
