Book Review: Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson

Rating:

warbreakerTo sci-fi/fantasy buffs, Brandon Sanderson does not need an introduction. He has brought us to different worlds, and in Warbreaker , the world of magic is based on color.

The story of two sisters, one raised to marry a god while the other one was allowed to be idealistic and fun-loving, Warbreaker touches on love, politics and religion.

The two princesses, Vivenna and Siri (this book was written prior to iPhone’s AI with the same name) get involved with the wrong man. Vivenna, who was raised to be Queen found herself in the company of Vasher, a shadowy figure.

Fun-loving and rule-breaker Siri was married to Susebron, the God King and was ordered to procreate and provide an heir.

But, there is a problem and Siri did not know how to solve it. And if she could not do what the Council want, her home, her life and her husband’s life were at stake.

With a different magic system, Warbreaker is already a winner. With engaging characters like Siri, Susebron, Vivenna and Vasher, Warbreaker is destined to be a classic.
