Book Review: On Her Watch by Rie Warren

Rating:

on her watch In a not so distant future, world governments collapse and nations no longer exists. The world is divided into territories named after the Greek alphabet.

The former United States is called the Alpha territory, and its military might is headquartered at Beta, an area once called Manhattan.

But the more the pseudo military/corporation form of government try to control the population, the more the people revolts. After all, the former United States is not known for “land of the free, home of the brave” for nothing.

At the spearhead of the rebels is Liz Grant, Beta Corps Lieutenant turned Freedom Fighter. Her mission –return to Beta, infiltrate the Corps and obtain classified information that could turn the battle in the revolutionaries’ favor.

Yet, unknown to her superiors, Liz Grant has a personal mission – find the person who murdered her father over a decade ago.

Both her objectives sound like Mission Impossible but they are still doable except there is Commander Linc Cutler who is on top of her like white on rice. Their sexual attraction to each other is palpable. And something’s gotta give soon.

That Linc Cutler will own Liz’s body is a given; Liz’s only hope is that this coldly handsome soldier will not own her heart.

Book 2 of the “Don’t Tell” series, “On Her Watch” is actually a male/female erotica romance. And yes, the sex scenes are steamy. But there is also so much violence; I am actually rating this book M for Mature due more to violence with sexual content only as a second reason.

An adrenaline rush from beginning to end, “On Her Watch” is not for the faint of heart. The pacing is so fast that I felt I was playing a video game! And though this is an erotica story, even if the game developers take that out, it will still be a great video game!

With both the hero and heroine sexy as sin who shoots first before asking question later, they are shoo-in video game heroes!
