Book Review: Why Her by Rie Warren

Whew! After being treated with “Why Him?” last month, author Rie Warren turned around and released “Why Her?” the second book in her duology “Mistaken Identities” delivering another sucker punch for erotica fans.

Continuing the theme of May-December romance, “Why Her?” follows Stefanie “Stevie” Keller and Kane Bishop, with Stevie as May and Kane as December. It’s the traditional view – older man and younger woman, no surprises there.

But, we are talking about Rie Warren who loves putting twists in the plot. The surprise – a soft gender swap. Stevie is a construction crew Chief to architect Kane Bishop’s home renovation project. The mistaken identity – construction crew chief Stevie is a girl named Stefanie.

A touch of rom-com, a touch of a young girl coming-of-age and touch of drama, “Why Her?” has all the elements of a story that can easily land on the Hallmark Channel (without the steamy scenes). Yet, quite frankly, it is the steamy scenes which make this book stand out.

A fast and easy read, you can finish “Why Her?” in one sitting. It’s NSW, so if you are going out of town for Labor Day weekend, this book can be one of your guilty pleasures!

Why Her?” is Rated M for Mature due to sexual content and some violence.

If you believe in romance . . .

I don’t want to know his full name.
I don’t even want his phone number.
In fact, the only thing I want from Jude is the filthy hot sex the masterful hung stud delivers on a weekly basis.
He’s way too young for me . . . and much too good at fulfilling my every dirty desire.
He definitely isn’t supposed to show up one morning on my doorstep with an offer I can’t refuse.
Now he’s in my life on a daily basis, and I can’t shake him no matter how hard I try.

He’s absolutely unsuitable.
She’s everything he knew he wanted from the first moment he saw her.
