Rie Warren is back in top form with her latest contemporary romance novel, “Why Him?”
Book 1 of the duology series “Mistaken Identities,” “Why Him?” brings readers back to Charleston, South Carolina which happens to the setting of almost (if not all) of Warren’s contemporary romances.
The setting is familiar; there are even cameo appearances of some characters from her other books. But Catherine and Jude are new. It’s a reverse May-December romance; which makes Catherine a cougar. I’ve always felt that label unfair. It’s okay for a man to fall in love with a younger woman and he is just a man. But, if it is a woman who falls for a younger man, then she is a cougar.
For the two lovers, it was supposed to be a just one-night stand. It turned into a weekly assignation. They never exchanged last names or phone numbers. It was just Catherine and Jude and should have been that way indefinitely.
But everyday life took over. Catherine needed a nanny, who turned out to be a manny… who happened to be Jude!
Identities were revealed! Catherine was actually Cady, a well-known high-priced lawyer and Jude happened to be an NHL player recovering from an injury. A mistaken identity indeed.
With Cady and Jude center stage, author Rie Warren ran true to form – lots of steamy scenes that can make you hot and bothered in less than 60 seconds. There are also laugh out loud funny moments and poignant ones. They don’t necessarily tug at your heartstrings, but Cady and Jude are easy to love as characters. Even without the sex, their story is worth reading.
“Why Him?” is Rated M for Mature due to sexual content.

Why Him?
If you believe in romance . . .
I don’t want to know his full name.
I don’t even want his phone number.
In fact, the only thing I want from Jude is the filthy hot sex the masterful hung stud delivers on a weekly basis.
He’s way too young for me . . . and much too good at fulfilling my every dirty desire.
He definitely isn’t supposed to show up one morning on my doorstep with an offer I can’t refuse.
Now he’s in my life on a daily basis, and I can’t shake him no matter how hard I try.
He’s absolutely unsuitable.
She’s everything he knew he wanted from the first moment he saw her.
A book full of filthy sex and beautiful tortured romance. Why Him? is a standalone novel with a tear-worthy HEA, no cheating, no cliffhangers, just all yes. Keep the fan handy, you’ll need it.
