Book Review: My Wolf’s Bane by Veronica Blade

Rating:

my wolfs baneThe beginning of the new series Shapes of Autumn, “My Wolf’s Bane” introduces Autumn Rossi, a seemingly normal teen with overprotective parents who now finds herself left alone by both Mom and Dad about the same time that she found herself having paranormal hearing, strength and sight.

After a not-so amicable break up with her boyfriend, Autumn finds herself attracted to the new guy in school, Zack de Luca who has the habit of sniffing her when she is close. As weird as it might sound, Zack turns out to be Autumn’s new love and protector.

My Wolf’s Bane” is classified as YA, so though there are some sexy scenes, Autumn and Zack who are both teenagers never crossed the line. In fact, these two are the epitome of obedient teens so this might be a good book to recommend to your teens who love to read.

An easy read, “My Wolf’s Bane” lived up to expectations for a first book in a series. A nice introduction for the main characters and there was enough intrigue to have a climax and denouement once it’s resolved. There is also several questions left unanswered which will interest the readers to read the next book.

But don’t worry! If you decide not to get the next book, “My Wolf’s Bane” can stand on its own and the main plotline is resolved.
