Four separate and standalone books about four women who have been friends since they were children. Their mothers are sorority sisters. When they were born they formed their own sorority based on their friendship and without Greek letters.
First is Sabrina Gervais, a single mother to 9-year old Charlotte. Bree for short, she still pines for Jake Killen, her only lover and Charlotte’s father. Out of the blue, Jake comes back to Bree’s life. Charlotte wants her daddy; Bree wants her lover back but too much water has passed under the bridge.
Can Bree and Jake forgive each other for all the heartaches and all the mistakes they made so that they can give Charlotte a family she had been wishing for every Christmas since she could remember? (This Christmas (Christmas in New York Book 1) by Jeannie Moon)
Then there is Cassandra Baines, the quintessential New Yorker. On a fast track on her career, Cassie almost has everything except the man she loves; bad boy Sean McKinnon broke her heart seven years ago. Then Cassie walks into Sean’s bar and all bets were off.
The question, will their careers continue to pull them apart or are they willing to compromise this time? (All I Want for Christmas (Christmas in New York Book 2) by Jennifer Gracen)
Next, we have Adirondack girl-in-transition Jade Engel and her childhood best friend turned nemesis, Ben Stephens. They meet again in upstate New York, in their hometown of Starling.
But while Ben has found his own niche and on his way up his chosen career, Jade’s career is in the doldrums. With memories of teen angst and high school bullying, Jade has to forgive herself even before she can take the first step towards Ben.
Question is, will Ben even be there to meet Jade halfway? (A Light in the Window (Christmas in New York Book 3) by Jolyse Barnett)
And finally, we have Goodness and Light (Christmas in New York Book 4) by Patty Blount, the most heartbreaking story! It follows Elena Larsen and Lucas Adair, two September 11 orphans. It’s been 13 years, but the events of that fateful day are as fresh as newly fallen snow in their memories. Their attraction to each other is palpable but will it develop into love that can heal their hearts?
All four books are easy reads, which you can actually finish in one sitting being novellas. Great storytelling using concise words; all four books are thoroughly enjoyable. Though they are solid stories as they are, their brevity is also their downfall.
After reading each book, I wanted more. I want deeper background stories; I want more interaction among the hero and the heroines. And perhaps, that is my Christmas wish for these four books!
All four books are Rated T and YA for teens and young adults. There are sex scenes but those are mostly implied and not graphic.

Thirteen years ago, two teens met on the ramp to Ground Zero, on a cold and snowy day, strangers bonding in a moment of grief. The boy pressed a crystal snowflake ornament into the girl’s hand and disappeared into the crowd, unaware that his simple act of kindness saved her from the guilt that threatened to consume her.
Since losing her mom, Elena Larsen hasn’t set foot in New York City — until now. Agreeing to help her sister prepare for her baby’s birth seems like a good way to spend Christmas and Elena vows not to let the monstrous guilt that weighs on her heart ruin everything. But those plans go awry when she meets Lucas Adair, a man whose own grief and guilt just might rival her own.
When Elena discovers Lucas is the boy who gave her that crystal snowflake all those years ago, she can’t accept it as the sign Lucas believes it to be. For her, it means only one thing — even beyond the grave, her mother can never forgive Elena for breaking her heart.
For Lucas, New York is hallowed ground that he can never leave. He spends his days working in the Financial District and his evenings volunteering and it’s almost enough to help him forget what he did. Lucas knows better than to make plans with a woman who will soon be leaving, yet can’t help himself. There’s something about Elena that pulls him in. He doesn’t put much faith in signs but even he starts to believe Elena is his absolution. Now, he only has to convince her.
