DALLAS, Jun 17, 2014/ — Spark your child’s imagination this summer! Drop by Stonebriar Centre Mall on June 28, 2014 for a special reading of “Curious George and the Hot Air Balloon”.
Your little one can even meet Curious George himself as he will meet and mingle with fans and customers immediately after the reading.
Plus, kids will enjoy arts and crafts, kid’s DJ, face painters, balloon twisters and treats! Customers making a $35 purchase in the children’s department the day of the event will receive a complimentary copy of the book!
Curious George’s visit to Dallas is to support the “Be Book Smart” campaign which officially launches on June 18. With the theme, “spark children’s imagination this summer with reading circles throughout the country,” the “Be Book Smart” campaign is once again on its way in helping provide new, quality children’s books to the local community, directly benefiting local children and families.
Inaugurated 11 years ago, “Be Book Smart” has raised nearly $30 million to provide books to children in need. A partnership between Macy’s and Reading is Fundamental (RIF), “Be Book Smart”, a customer-supported campaign that has delivered over 10 million books to children.
From June 18 through July 13, Be Book Smart invites Macy’s customers coast-to-coast to give $3 at any Macy’s register in-store to help provide a book for a child in their local community.
Macy’s will donate 100 percent of every $3 to RIF, and customers will receive a coupon for $10 off an in-store purchase of $30 or more.
