Introducing Garrett Leight California Optical’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

GLCO_SS15_5_2Channeling the retro glamour of summer holidays spent at the beach, the Garrett Leight California Optical Spring/Summer 2015 collection introduces a relaxed style available in a rich palette of pastel shades such as Pink Blush, Lemon, and Mint.

Inspired by the idea of timeless style icons enjoying a dream-like getaway, GLCO designed several of this season’s offerings with 1950s and ‘60s luminaries such as John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe and famed photographer Richard Avedon in mind.

GLCO_SS15_Pinehurst_2The resulting array of classic frames and unique design elements–layered mirror lenses, collapsible frames and oversized silhouettes–offer a collection that truly conveys a vintage and effortless level of style that still feels just as relevant today.

GLCO’s sophisticated use of materials and construction are applied to fresh styles making their debut this season: The star of the collection is Van Buren, a sleek metal frame that folds into your pocket thanks to authentic Windsor rims and flat lenses.

Alongside the Van Buren, new styles include the Coeur D’Alene, Bryn Mawr, Altair and Pinehurst, which as always, are named after historic streets in Venice, CA. The bright array of new hues are applied this season to some of GLCO’s most sought-after frames: Van Buren M, Wilson M, Dillon and Milwood Clip.

This season, GLCO’s uniquely-mixed color pairings, reminiscent of California’s sun, sand and casual lifestyle, offer a fresh twist on their beloved classic opticals and sunglasses, presenting a new face of retro elegance and charisma for the sunny season ahead.
