Give Back to the Earth in Style with Feller Shades

It’s fashion for a cause, where looking good also means doing good. Feller Shades, a new wooden eyewear line donates a portion of profits from every pair sold to plant trees with the National Forest Foundation.

Founded in 2016 by brothers Zac and Mac Kish, these handcrafted sunnies were inspired by their love for the outdoors. Expected to be available online beginning March 2017, every Feller Shades sunglasses will be handmade from domestic and exotic hardwoods, as well as some repurposed materials. The company’s mission is to plant a tree for every pair of glasses sold.

Not surprisingly, each frame from the Feller Shades collection is named in honor of a U.S. National Forest.

“We want to pay homage to the beautiful forests we’re blessed with here in the States,” Zac says. “They are an invaluable resource for industry and recreation. Visitors to our National Forests contribute over $13 billion every year to America’s economy. Our forests are threatened and need our help. So for every pair of sunglasses we sell, a tree will be planted in our National Forests.”

Feller Shades has promised to donate a portion of the profits from every pair sold to plant trees through the National Forest Foundation. The NFF ensures that all trees are professionally planted, native and locally sourced, and cared for by the U.S. Forest Service. “We appreciate the opportunity to give back to the planet that helps us to do what we do,” says Mac.
