It’s Northern Lights Magic at Trollbeads

Last month, well-known jewelry brand Trollbeads announced that the 10th People’s Bead winner is Northern Lights Magic.

From all over the world, designs were uploaded by people who wanted to share their vision of a new bead into the innovative People’s Bead campaign, created by Trollbeads. Both designers and jury were found among customers and collectors with a shared passion for Trollbeads, and they enthusiastically voted for the theme of the year, the finalists and finally the winner.

For the 10th time, the Danish jewelry brand asked its fans to help design a new bead to the ever-growing collection of inventive beads that fit the original beads-on-bracelet concept. Once again, the event inspired fans and followers from all around the world to share their creativity designs. The company received several thousands of unique designs, 24 finalists were chosen by the fans, and then the public jury voted for one winning design.

Northern Lights Magic is a stunning bead in Murano glass, mounted with a sterling silver core. The bead launched with the story: Over the polar circle, Northern light plays in the night sky. Pale silvery greens and violets dancing over the satin blue Milky Way. Magical and unforgettable, symbolizing the enchanting power of nature.

The designer behind the 2018 People’s Bead ‘Northern Lights Magic’ is Linda Kucina.

Linda Kucina who is from Latvia, studied intercultural relations and European studies. Besides being very focused on culture and international relations, Linda is in love and fascinated by nature.

Kucina said, “I have a bucket list of dreams and goals and seeing the Northern lights was on the list. Last September, I went to Tromsø in Norway together with my friend, and luckily, we saw very beautiful dancing Aurora two nights in a row. I made a lot of photos, but the camera sees the Lights differently from the human eye, so the photos did not really show what we saw. I wanted to encapsulate my memories in something tangible, but representing the colors closer to reality, so I did several acrylic paintings of the lights playing in the sky over Tromsø. When this year’s People’s Bead contest was announced, I cropped one of my paintings to a bead shape and decided to participate just to tell myself that I have done all I could do to get the bead I wished for.”

‘Northern Lights Magic’ is now available in stores worldwide and online at www.trollbeads.com.
