Julien Fournié Brings His “First Chimerae” Couture Collection to Singapore

julien fournie 01PARIS, Oct 10, 2013/ — First unveiled at Paris Haute Couture Week in July 2013, Julien Fournié will re-stage his “First Chimerae” collection at FIDé Fashion Week in Singapore.

Partly inspired by Catherine de Médicis, Queen of France in the 16th century, “First Chimerae” features high necklines (which was favored by Catherine de Médicis with silhouettes reminiscent of Modigliani done in colors favored by artist Gustav Klimt.

This is the second time that the young French couturier will show his couture collection in Singapore. The first time was in November 2012 wherein he re-staged the second part of his “First Retrospective” collection in a very “disco” atmosphere.

The decision to show a second time in Singapore was a natural progression. Julien Fournié has two forms of shows – dancing or high drama. He wants his audience to experience both, hence the conclusion to bring “First Chimerae” to Asia.

In November 2012, Julien Fournié, was the only couturier among eight guests from Paris in Singapore too show his couture on an all-Asian cast with curly afro hair and disco fun.

This year, Julien Fournié was chosen by FIDÉ FASHIION WEEKS again among a more selective set of only four couturiers from the official calendar of Haute Couture.

And once again, he has chosen an all-Asian cast once more which to show how he can interpret a historic mood for today, in Singapore , the city of the future. His challenge is to show he can help integrate Asian women in global history.
