This groundbreaking timepiece singlehandedly rethinks traditional world timekeeping functions and replaces them with new universal, selectable time-zone and hemispheric precision moon-phase indicators. Inspired by navigation, astronomy, and cartography of ancient times through to the present day, the Recital 18 presents the whole of the earth in a single hemisphere and innovative new 3-D map of the world, with the same 3-D principal applied to a new moon phase indicator.
Despite the complexity of its mechanisms, the Recital 18’s wearer can easily read and reset to a time-zone of choice with a push of the crown. This adjustment does not affect the minutes, seconds, universal time, or indexed time zone: an ease-of-use feature that makes the Recital 18 “Shooting Star” an impressive travel companion.
The 3-D moon phase indicator juxtaposes in harmonious balance with a five-day power reserve indicator, which is fueled by two barrels and a tourbillon balance for long days on the road, with no interruption of performance or reliability. A flat sapphire disc displays the hours, allowing for a highly legible reading of the current time, while the minutes can be read on the retrograde hand, which is seamlessly integrated with synchronized jumping hours.

Delicate hand-engraving extends across every surface of the Recital 18’s twice-patented movement, depicting a constellation of stars, while moon phase engravings and captivating poetry script cover its case back.
