On July 2nd, during Bread & Butter Berlin, G-Star presented its SS14 collections at off-site venue Kater Holzig. The innovative denim brand also announced their new campaign talents: Sergio Pizzorno and Keenan Kampa.
The two are a unique combination of creative talents, Sergio being the guitarist and songwriter of renowned British band Kasabian, and Keenan performing in the prestigious Russian Mariinsky Ballet Company.
At Kater Holzig, G-Star created a one night only denim experience, with an international musical extravaganza of DJs and the RAW Story Room, highlighting the new key denims for SS14. Including the Type C, the latest cut in the 3D denim line for both men and women.
The Type C is constructed with an extremely tapered fit and elongated rear pockets, for an unrestrained, yet smart look. In addition, the night featured a performance by Conny Janssen Danst, one of the most prominent modern dance troupes in the Netherlands.
Similar to Magnus Carlson, Clémence Poésy, and Liv Tyler, G-Star enjoys working with unexpected talents who are at the top of their game.
Both Keenan and Sergio found their one way into the world whilst pursuing their passion. Kampa is the first American to be accepted into the Russian Mariinsky Ballet Company. Sergio, lead songwriter for British band, Kasabian, switched his career path from football to music.
He said: “I told my careers adviser I wanted to be centre forward for Leicester City. When he said ‘No’ I thought I’d be in a rock ‘n’ roll band.”
The G-Star Autumn/Winter 2013 campaign featuring Sergio and Keenan, breaks across all media on August 15th.
