On September 14, 2018 Neiman Marcus welcomed Oscar de La Renta Chief Executive Officer Alex Bolen, Executive Vice President Eliza Bolen, and Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia to Dallas for the 2018 Crystal Charity Fashion Show and Luncheon.
The creative directors, known for their artfully crafted and innovative ready-to-wear, brought 64 looks from the Resort 2019 collection to walk the runway. The retailer’s downtown flagship has been completely transformed in celebration of the event.
As guests approach Neiman Marcus’ Commerce Street entrance, they were wowed by the store windows. Complementing many of the Crystal Charity honorees’ looks are pieces by world-renowned Australian jeweler, Margot McKinney.
Following the Fashion Show, guests had lunch on the Fourth Floor before returning to the Second Floor to shop the Oscar de la Renta trunk show, while enjoying passed champagne. A Margot McKinney trunk show was also hosted in the Precious Jewels Salon on the Main Floor.
Neiman Marcus hosted their first Crystal Charity in 1975 and has hosted 44 of the last 45 Fashion Shows and Luncheons. The early shows were collections of the best of Neiman Marcus merchandise, but since 1988 the shows have been in partnership with a single designer.
Since 1952, the sole purpose of The Crystal Charity Ball has been to aid, support and make contributions to children’s charities in Dallas County. As a nonprofit organization, independent of any national affiliation, members of The Crystal Charity Ball Committee have raised more than $150 million for more than 140 worthy beneficiaries over the past 60 years.
