Sunday, August 3rd was a red-letter day for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans as the 2014 reboot of the 30-year old franchise.
Based on the comic book of the same name, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or TMNT or Ninja Turtles for short first appeared in 1984 in an American comic book published by Mirage studios.
It is about four teenage anthropomorphic turtles named after four Renaissance artists, who were trained by their anthropomorphic rat sensei in the art of ninjutsu.
From their home in the storm sewers of New York City, they battle petty criminals, evil overlords, mutated animals, and alien invaders while attempting to remain isolated from society.
The characters expanded into a cartoon series, video games, toys and other general merchandise hitting a peak of its popularity in the late 1980s up to the 1990s.
The 2014 reboot stars Megan Fox, Pete Ploszek, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, William Fichtner, Danny Woodburn, Will Arnett and produced by Michael Bay.
The movie premiered at Regency Village Theater on August 3, 2014 in Westwood, California with cast and crew attending plus special guests.
