What if you wake up and the only thing you remember is your name and your job, nothing else? What will you do? Work… and be true to your purpose… But, what if everyone around you is the same… a few thousands who are all residents, workers, guards, servants and even the King have lost their memory except their name and their station in life. All of you live in “The Palace of Lost Memories.”
A mysterious palace was built in just a matter of months in the vast land where Josie, a midwife and the daughter of the local doctor live. Though Josie’s village is the only inhabited place near the palace, its staff never socialized with the villages, that is until Josie met the palace guards and its captain accidentally.
Josie did not expect to see them again until the Captain of the Guards knocked on their door saying that the palace needed the services of a doctor. And the palace was as resplendent as it was full of secrets. Josie’s curiosity was piqued. Following her instincts, she found more questions than answers in her quest. Dangers lurked in every corner and any false move could cost Josie her life.
Voiced by Marian Hussey, “The Palace of Lost Memories” is an easy read/listen. A very slow burn romance, this first book in “After The Rift” series of six has been written to pique the reader’s interest. A full story nonetheless (the reader does not feel cheated when the book ends), the anticipation for the next book is high. You can call this book the appetizer for a sumptuous meal.
