The seven-piece collection sees a selection of iconic adidas Originals pieces reengineered by Topshop to create an exclusive capsule of essential staples; the perfect fusion of street style with rich sport heritage.
The Topshop design team reworked a number of adidas Originals classics including the Superstar jacket and shoes, the oversize logo tee, side stripe pants and shorts, to reflect the distinctive Topshop design aesthetic.
The classic Superstar jacket is given a luxe, feminine treatment for the Topshop girl, constructed in soft, cream perforated leather paneling to create a slim silhouette, whilst footwear pays homage to an adidas Originals classic, the Superstar shoe, with two new updates including a clear sole and a metallic cracked leather shell-toe.
The simple monochromatic palette is punctuated with flashes of bold red; a colour scheme inspired by 80s hip-hop iconography. The original adidas Originals trefoil logo is the hero motif for the collection, with large scale placement on the oversized sweat and t-shirt and, in celebration of sporting success, pieces are trimmed with stopwatch timing details along with the iconic adidas Originals three stripes.
