Book Review: A Phoenix is Forever by Ashlyn Chase

I have to confess, I actually had misgivings when I picked up the ARC of “A Phoenix Is Forever.” My knowledge of phoenixes is limited to Dumbledore’s bird in the Harry Potter series.

But, phoenix shifter Luca Fierro, the hero in this paranormal novel easily changed my mind. I found him to be easily endearing. Adding Dawn Forest to the mix added drama and comedic relief at the same time. Why is that?

First, her name is peculiar! I mean who names the heroine Dawn Forest! Are we in Wonderland? That name alone made me smile. Then she is a psychic who actually faints when wielding her powers! Talk about being inadequate!

But, don’t worry. Amidst those laugh out loud funny moments, there is also seriousness and lots of drama in this book. Luca and Dawn might not be your typical lead characters but their story is fun to read.

A Phoenix Is Forever” is Rated T for Teens. Parental advise is strong advised due to paranormal violence and some criminal activities.
