Last Minute Fourth of July Packing Guide

With a record setting 46.9 million Americans expected to hit the roads, rails and sky for the Fourth of July holiday, packing light and packing right is a must. Nearly 40 million will be traveling by car and 3.76 million will be flying for the holiday, the most number of passengers and crew flying on a single day ever.

To keep within the Fourth of July theme, we have chosen red, white and blue color scheme beginning with the with Capulet’s Martine Short. Crafted from soft linen, these vacation-ready shorts are designed with a relaxed fit, a waist tie, and curved patch pockets. Style these shorts with a striped top for a nautical-inspired look.

Pair this with 1. State Crewneck Pintuck Sleeve Blouse, a must-have essential that brings elevated appeal to a casual ensemble. Designed with a classic crew neck silhouette and pintucked sleeves, it features a back-clasp closure with a keyhole detail.

Since this is going to be the busiest travel day ever, expect delays. We suggest bringing entertainment. And because books have gone digital, we can just download them in our smartphone or tablet.

If you are traveling by plane, we suggest “Sit, Stay, Love (Rescue Me)” by Debbie Burns. A dogs rescue story (yes, dogs as in plural), the story follows no-kill shelter worker Kelsey Sutton and former Marine dog handler Kurt Crawford.

In the grand tradition of opposites attract, we find the push and pull of Kelsey and Kurt as they try to navigate the attraction they have for each other. There are lots of funny moments, but mostly, the hero and heroine tug at your heartstrings as they find out that they need love as much as the dogs they rescue need TLC too.

A great read! “Sit, Stay, Love (Rescue Me)” is Rated T for Teens. Parental Guidance strongly advised due to animal abuse.

If you are traveling by car, we suggest listening to an audiobook, and our suggestion – A Different Blue by Amy Harmon.

One of the best books I’ve ever read, “A Different Blue ” follows Blue Echohawk who was abandoned by her mother at two and raised by a Native American wood sculptor. Blue tugs at your heartstrings from the first page to the last. And yes, there will be times when you shed a tear for her, but most of the time, you admire her courage while at the same time you want to hug her to give her encouragement.

I can’t add anymore because I might reveal the plot. I’ll just add the book description below so that you will have an idea how beautiful this story is. A Different Blue is Rated T for Teens. Parental guidance is strongly advised due to some adult situations.

Blue Echohawk doesn’t know who she is. She doesn’t know her real name or when she was born. Abandoned at two and raised by a drifter, she didn’t attend school until she was ten years old. At nineteen, when most kids her age are attending college or moving on with life, she is just a senior in high school. With no mother, no father, no faith, and no future, Blue Echohawk is a difficult student, to say the least.

Tough, hard, and overtly sexy, she is the complete opposite of the young British teacher who decides he is up for the challenge and takes the troublemaker under his wing.

This is the story of a nobody who becomes somebody. It is the story of an unlikely friendship, where hope fosters healing and redemption becomes love. But falling in love can be hard when you don’t know who you are. Falling in love with someone who knows exactly who they are and exactly why they can’t love you back might be impossible.
