LONDON, Sep 19, 2012/ — Mulberry’s Spring Summer 2013 collection takes us back to the Seventies and the years of a young Mulberry brand. In the setting of an irreverent English garden a decadent medley of flora and fauna blends with luscious fresh colour and tropical-inspired prints, mixing up a laid-back spectrum of sorbet shades and exotic inspiration with the covetable luxury of Mulberry’s rural English craft heritage.
Key silhouettes allude to Seventies shapes and tailoring, re-imagined through Mulberry’s eyes, and a signature of layering textures weaves its way through the collection. Leather is a significant influence for outerwear, taking shapes that would traditionally be cut in cloth and reworking them in soft leather shapes.
The season also sees a development of the design juxtaposition between the structured and relaxed, with bonded leather and jacquard pieces contrasting with fluid volumes for mixed-up silhouettes.
