olivier zahm diary cover olivier zahm diary cover2Olivier Zahm, the notorious founder of Purple magazine, chronicles the world around him in nonstop photographs. And what a world it is, replete with daring models, counter-cultural artists and performers, and the hip denizens of Paris, New York, LA and more.

He captures the lives of the creative elite, himself included, and in O.Z. DIARY, has personally selected and organized hundreds of images into a wildly adventurous visual autobiography.

“Photography is Olivier Zahm’s conceptual tool—his way to interject ideas into the world,” states, art critic Donatien Grau in an Afterword.

Accompanied by a droll tribute from Glenn O’Brien—no stranger to hip nightlife himself—and additional text by Jeff Rian, long-time Purple contributing writer, and Donatien Grau, OLIVIER ZAHM DIARY gives the interested reader a fascinating look into a very creative mind.

“Olivier leads a sort of heroic life. He is out there in the world, looking for more. He is the exemplar of urban adventure. He pushes the envelope of joie de vivre, like Chuck Yeager pushing the wildly shaking X-1 rocket rocket plane to the edge of space in The Right Stuff. He’s the test pilot of the night.”—Glenn O’Brien
